Hi. :) I'm 47, and just finding time to get back into reading, which I am loving. I usually have a mix of biographies and fiction on rhe go,.and will read anything once...apart from sci-fi, so nearly everything. :) I'm looking to join a bookclub just to meet like-minded people, have a chat and make some connections... easier said than done when all you want to do is stay home with a good book. 😅

It's different. It's written in patois which I thought would be a stumbling block, but you don't notice after you're a chapter in. It doesn't go where you think it will, but Abi Dare is a keen observer of what is usually mundane, but she manages to portray it differently, so you have many 'oh wow, didn't think of it like that' moments. Very character driven.
