Generally lean towards sci-fi/fantasy but enjoy almost all genres and happy to read anything new. I like the idea of meeting up monthly or so to discuss the book in a cafe or pub

Rikki Anderson (Leicester)

I tend to read books that explore psychology, philosophy, and what it means to be human. I’m interested in stories that make you think about meaning, resilience, and how people make sense of difficult experiences. I enjoy discussing ideas and different perspectives, and I’m hoping to meet people who like deeper conversations about books rather than just quick reviews.

Rikki Anderson recommends:

The Humans by Matt Haig
The Humans
by Matt Haig | Buy this book
A unique and often funny perspective on what it means to be human, told through the eyes of an outsider trying to understand our emotions, relationships, and contradictions. It mixes philosophy, humour, and vulnerability in a way that makes you appreciate the small things in life.
The Catcher in the Rye
by J. D. Salinger | Buy this book
A very honest look at alienation, identity, and the struggle to find your place in the world. Holden feels real rather than polished, and the book captures that uncomfortable space between adolescence and adulthood in a psychologically believable way.
Beatrice and Virgil by Yann Martel
Beatrice and Virgil
by Yann Martel | Buy this book
A strange but powerful exploration of how we try to understand trauma and suffering through art and storytelling. It’s symbolic, unsettling at times, and raises questions about how history and cruelty can be represented without losing their meaning.

justabadger (Leicester)

Just a badger. Reads books. Lifts weights. Overthinks existence. Probably drinking coffee while highlighting passages I’ll pretend I fully understood. I like philosophy, classic literature, psychology and anything slightly weird or thought-provoking. Joining to find interesting people, expand my reading list, and have actual conversations about books instead of just rating them out of 5.

Brooke (Ipswich)

Hello, I have a superb book for book club readers.....its on Amazon 9798254021070 It is my very true story, of becoming embroiled with a psychopath when I was a psychology student, which led to 8 years of my endeavours to fix him, thereby having the perfect man. We travelled over seas to exotic islands on his boat, purchased by a wealthy widow woman.....the story is very gripping, and carries messages for women on how you can ovetcome abuse, and other psychotic behaviours, and even survive strangulation at sea.....it makes a really good discussion, lots of gritty and questions about 'why did she stay' I don't think any reader would be disappointed. It follows 3 sisters who all have their own books in an interconnected series. if you love gossip girl & friends it’s very much alike. Tropes include: found family, friends to lovers, rivals to lovers, grumpy sunshine.
