I am just moving to Edinburgh and am an avid reader and have loved the conversations and different view points seen in a book at my current book club. So am looking for a new home.

Finlay (Edinburgh)

I'm 26, enjoyed reading at school but have only gotten back into it following a period lost in the wilderness. I enjoy classical fiction, murder/mystery and fantasy. Am looking for a book group to introduce me to new authors and stories.

ValM (Edinburgh)

I'm a writer and new to Edinburgh and eager to meet new people, chat all things books and more. I primarily write children's fiction (not yet published, but nearly!) and am working on my first romance fiction so I'm pretty much open to reading anything :)

ValM recommends:

Rachels Holiday
by Marian Keynes | Learn more and buy
From the start it seems like this is just going to be a book about addiction, but it is far far more. The comedy, unreliable narrator (which is only revealed part way through the story), the arc development, pace and motivations for each character are excellent. It's a recent find (though a relatively older book now). Again Rachel is even better.

Emma (Edinburgh)

I love contemporary and historical fiction. I have been exploring more Scottish authors and books set in Edinburgh. Would love to join (or start?) a book club where there is no need to buy tickets but is friendly, cozy and chill.

Miles (Edinburgh)

Hi there. I'm Miles, 30, from Australia, and I moved to Edinburgh 6 months ago. I'd like to find or start a book club where we all read the same book and then talk about it afterwards. I mostly enjoy reading literary fiction and poetry, but I’m open to most genres as long as there’s plenty to discuss.

Looking for a book club in Edinburgh as a way to meet new people and make connections, as well as being encouraged to read things I wouldn’t necessarily choose for myself. I mostly read contemporary fiction and crime novels.

EliR (Edinburgh)

Hi, Delilah, I image you already find your book club but I would like to contact you if you are still interested. I am from Spain, moved to Leith 2 years ago and since I moved I struggle to go back into reading... I am also 30 and reading was always my favourite hobby. I study Journalism and Humanities and I am passionate about writting, art, dance, history and phicology. I read diferent genders but my favourite are non-fiction cotemporany, poetry, essays and classics (I ended up reading mostly women authors. I would love to discover british and international authors but I really don't care, the main thing for me is having the opportunity to make friendship who share similar interests and go back into reading. Would be lovely to meeting you. Best wishes, Eli

Chuks (Edinburgh)

Hi, I’m Chuks, a software engineer currently based in Edinburgh. I enjoy reading books that challenge my thinking and help me learn new perspectives. My favourite genres include personal development, technology, psychology, business, history, and occasionally fiction with strong characters and meaningful themes. I’m looking to join a book group because I’d like to meet like-minded people, have thoughtful discussions, discover books I might not otherwise pick up, and broaden my horizons through different viewpoints. I enjoy learning from others and believe books are a great way to start interesting conversations. Ideally, I’d like to meet once or twice a month, depending on the group’s schedule. I’m also interested in making new friends and becoming part of a welcoming community of readers who enjoy sharing ideas and recommendations. I look forward to discussing great books and meeting fellow book lovers.
