Pageturners (Scunthorpe)
Meets at Lincoln Court on Run by Wendy Merrett Library service Pageturners Reading Group meets monthly and each member pays £2 per meeting, which covers the group\\\'s expenses and refreshments. Each month, a book provided by the library is given to each member to read over the next few weeks. We then meet at the venue and discuss different aspects of the book: themes, characters, plot etc. We have read a variety of genres ranging from thrillers, classics, contemporary fiction, historical fiction and some unusual reads which are less easily classified. We usually have another activity such as a quiz or a talk on a literary theme and the evening is usually pretty sociable. We have an occasional trip to the cinema to see films relating to the books we have read and members who visit literary events give a talk about their experiences on their return. The local library provides a list of available titles, which is very comprehensive, and a new title is chosen each month by the members or there may be a random choice by the library according to what is available. We currently have about 10 members and new members are always welcome. We meet at: Gloucester Avenue, Scunthorpe, North lincolnshire, DN16 2EG Accepting new members
