I am a 91-year-olda man. I had a story to tell, and no one to tell it to, therefore I wrote it as a book using an imaginary family. I am a veteran of the Air Force, who was only seven when the www11 began. I came from the Eastend near the docks of London, a poor family and poor education. I learned the hard way from books recovered from bombed-out houses and shops sold them on. There is little more I can say.

Poorna
I have a fairly diverse taste in books (I mostly read fiction but not opposed to non-fiction). I enjoy contemporary and classic fiction, memoirs, historical fiction, and novels exploring the stories and experiences of immigrants.

When do we meet? The third Saturday of every month, typically in the afternoon. Where do we meet? How do we decide what to read? Choices are curated but members can vote in our polls! Who can join? All respectful adults are welcome; events are not child-friendly. Hi there, I'm a 26 year-old who's relatively new to the area and looking for a book group to aid in meeting people with similar interests. My reading history is something of a melting point: lots of classics with a particular affinity to Dumas, Wilde and Capote but also regularly reading fantasy (GRR Martin, Stephen King, Tolkien). I'm based in NW London (Maida Vale) so would love to be able to discuss books with like-minded people.

I recently just caught the reading bug again and don't want to lose it! Managed to finish off One Hundred Years of Solitude in just a few days and would definitely be down for joining a local book club or getting some recommendations. I am mainly based in Elephant and Castle.
