Pitman Poets book club
Meets at Pitman Poets Book Club. on Run by Pitman Poets book club Library service Doncaster MBC - Libraries We are a mixed group of eleven people, six men and five women. The Pitman Poets book club is situated in the Concertina Band Club, which us located on Dolcliffe Road, Mexborough. Our group will meet every first Wednesday of the month, starting on January the 6th 2016. 'Yes we are a brand new group.' The meetings will be held in the snug bar of the Concertina band club. 'The Tina' as it is known locally, is a charming little working mens club that is time warped in the 70s. The little club brews it's own beers in house. I also run a spoken word event every third Thursday of the month, entitled 'The Pitman Poets Open Mic. Start time is around 8pm, we are principally a spoken word event, but we do have two or three acoustic guitar payers usually in attendance. We have been running unfunded for two years. Anyway due to the success of our open mic, I decided to create, The Pitman Poet Book Club' And the interest as been such, that it appears we are full. But if you want to pop along to either events, please feel free. At a push we have room for a female, member or maybe two.
