Zoe (Barnsley)
I would like to join a book club in order to discover new book recommendations and make genuine connections. I enjoy all kinds of genres: romance, sci-fi, YA, psychological horror, supernatural, etc. I am disabled, so if there is an opportunity for in-person and virtual, that would be helpful.

Lavender (Doncaster)
Hi, I'm a full‑time worker, mum of two, and someone whose life is wonderfully busy in about twelve different directions at once. Books have become my little sanctuary lately, especially anything by Marian Keyes or Alexandra Potter. Their warmth, humour, and honesty give me the escape I don’t always get in real life. I’d love to join a book club to carve out a small pocket of calm, connect with like‑minded people, and share stories with others who also read to breathe a little easier. If you enjoy heartfelt chats, good laughs, and the comfort of a great book, I’d love to meet, speak, or type with you.

Read between the Wines (Rotherham)
I'm just gauging interest in a meeting once a month in Rotherham, in a cafe/pub. We'd vote on a book each month and then meet up and discuss it over a drink (alcoholic or non-alcoholic!) as well as sharing our favourite books and any good recent reads!

JC (Mexborough)
I have just retired from education, and have spent my life in books. I am autistic and hold both a degree and a masters degree in Education, so my experience with books has been steeped in the profession,as well as my role within the subject of English. Being autistic means that retirement brings loss, but the opportu ity to have a personal purpose in book reading for pleasure. I don't think I can make the leap from professional use of books to personal use on my own. I need purpose. A group would give me the purpose to love books again, like I did before I became a teacher and my purpose was to support others to enjoy books and engage with learning this way. Autism makes my book journey an I.portant part of who I am,and now that I am retired I want to be who I am with a group who also love books but have the neurotypical ability to make choices that are not open to me without the support from others. A book club sounds frightening to me because it involves being with people I do not know who may not understand such a fear. It is however my greatest step to loving books for enjoyment. Thank you for allowing me to share who I really am, because it is who I really am that shapes my need to join a book club.

Katie (Barnsley)
Hi! I’m Katie, I’m looking to join a book club preferably in person but don't mind online as well. I have always loved books and have recently found joy in discussing different books and getting peoples views on them! I’m currently making my way through The Thursday Murder Club series, but love fantasy, romance, thriller, action, and various other genres. There is not much I won't read but I'll admit to not reading much non-fiction but always open to suggestions.
