Laura (Dromore)
Hey, I’m 27. I have always enjoyed reading but it’s took a back seat for quite a while. I have recently got very into romance fantasy and would love to increase my reading and try out different genres also. I really like the idea of a book club to be able to discuss books and encourage reading.

I've missed reading over the years, and social media filled the gap, so started 2025 , to get back to it, something about reading that exercises the mind, on my 3rd book this year, feeling my mind is having great mental work out, after all the years of effortlessly scrolling, years back would have been more fiction reader, recently autobiographical and psychology, books, but welling to expand my knowledge.

I'm 62 and looking for a group with a range of reading interests to join. Work shifts make it difficult for me to be consistent so I'm hoping that's OK. New Year, new resolutions!

Would love to converse on books that are works of great writing. Classics by all means, but also anything more recent from authors who know their craft. I'm no intellectual, but if anyone wants to natter about authors from the likes of Thomas Hardy to Iris Murdoch I'd delight in your company. (Great Film and TV also up for discussion!)

I rediscovered reading about five years ago. It’s a great stress buster. I don’t have a particular genre I favour. Anything which grabs me in the first five or ten pages is good enough for me. I like some Japanese fiction and Abhir Mukherjee’s crime fiction series set in colonial India.
