Samantha

Hey, I'm Samantha, 25 from Henlow ๐Ÿ‘‹. I mostly enjoy reading crime, thriller, horror and romance but happy to try something new also. I love a book with a good twist! I am looking to make some new friends in the area and am open to joining a local book group, or meeting 1-1 for a cuppa โ˜•๏ธ๐Ÿ’•

I love the ending - what a great twist. The only book I have ever read more than once. Some other honourable mentions for me are The Butterfly Garden & Tattooist of Auschwitz

Formed a book group in Bedford more than 30 years ago and it is now probably on the point of expiring : I am kind of ancient, but still read widely and prefer something that needs an effort , eg classics, literary novels, biography ,for discussion (read a lot of crime, etc, also but don't specially want to discuss this!). Looking at your listings, I wondered about Ndidi's group, but don't know where / when it meets?

I'd like to join a book club to expand my reading to books and genre's I wouldn't necessary be drawn to. Getting to know new people would also be great. Anywhere near or in Bedford would be good.

Ndidi

I've started a book club called the Reading Nooks and Great Books Literary Club (think the Guernsey literary and potato peel pie society) where we tackle some of the world's greatest novels over lively discussion. The group is open to both new and seasoned readers of world classics. The main aim is to share our love for literature and the ways it has expanded our worldview. In doing so, we hope to echo Francis Bacon's idea of the good life: "old wood best to burn, old wine to drink, old friends to trust, and old authors to read." ๐Ÿ“š๐ŸŒผ๐ŸŒป๐Ÿ“œ You can find the group on Meetup!

I read this over the summer last year and it was such an exciting read! It's got a little bit of everything for everyone: adventure, drama, romance, suspense and of course there are themes of love, forgiveness and kindness there. Such an engaging read, would highly recommend if you'd like to feel like a 12 year old again (in a good way)

Josie

Hello! ๐Ÿ‘‹ Iโ€™m Josie, in my 20s, based near Shefford and love reading romance, crime/thrillers, and self-improvement books, though Iโ€™m open to all genres! Iโ€™d love to join a book club to meet new people and share great reads. Let me know if thereโ€™s a group I can join, or feel free to drop me a message if youโ€™d like to chat about books in person over a cup of tea! ๐Ÿ˜Š

I love reading and sharing a good book. A good classic, romance, crime or adventure story is for me. Iโ€™m less interested in sci-fi and fantasy.
