Natasha

I am looking for a group to enjoy sharing books. I read a lot but none of it what anyone would call good. I love romance, romantasy and fantasy novels. Favourite authors alanea alder, kc mills. I willing to try anything but I read to escape not to be made to think. Anyone running a group I can fit in with?

Natasha recommends:

Arrows of the queen

Fantasy based in valdemar. Where there are spirit horses that choose their person. Really wonderful world created by Mercedes. With griffons, fire cats, mind magic and traditional magic.

Tyler

Hey, I’m Tyler (24), I’ve been a reader since childhood and I’m looking to meet some more people as a reading can be a pretty solitary hobby. I read anything and everything a mix of romance, fantasy, sci-fi and some general fiction and thrillers X

Adina

Hi, I’m Adina. I enjoy books that pull you in and stay with you - whether that’s fiction, psychological reads, or something beautifully written. I’d love to join a group where conversations flow easily, ideas are shared, and it’s as much about connection as it is about the books. Also always open to recommendations!

Adina recommends:

The Kite Runner
by Khaled Hosseini | Learn more and buy
It’s beautifully written and deeply emotional, exploring friendship, guilt, and redemption. It’s one of those stories that really stays with you.

Laurie

Hi, I'm Laurie, 24 :) I'm looking to join a local (Northampton) book club to make friends and help with my reading goal for the year. I mostly read literary fiction and classics but I'm not really fussed about what I read - it's fun to branch out now and again.

Laurie recommends:

The Goldfinch by Donna Tartt
The Goldfinch
by Donna Tartt | Learn more and buy
It's veeery long - over 750 pages - which is obviously not for everyone, but it's written in a very accessible and immersive style. A teenage boy growing up in New York City in the early 2000s is the victim of a museum bombing, and while concussed steals a priceless painting (The Goldfinch), believing that he's protecting it. Since his only close relative - his mother - is killed in the attack, he then drifts from home to home, trying to keep his possession of the painting a secret. Great for people who enjoy more "literary" stories, as it's reminiscent of Dickens and other Victorian novels, but also a brilliant coming-of-age story. I first read it when I was nineteen and have been obsessed ever since.
