Hi, I am 19 years old and am looking to connect with people who also love books! Recently my favourite genres have been Sci-Fi, Thriller, and Literary Fiction, though I do still love Romance and Crime. Looking for a club in Luton to read and discuss books together!

This was my first dive into Sci-Fi, and I absolutely loved it! The author creates such a great atmosphere, and introduces some really interesting characters and plots. Go into this book blind as I did!

I'm 24 from Luton looking for a possible bookclub nearby :) My favourite genres are classics, sci-fi & thrillers, but I'm open to reading pretty much anything

Rachel recommends:

I loved how this had both a really intriguing plot, but also an examination of what the human experience is to live and love. I never knew where this book was going next. It's a short novel yet full of so much.

Jill (Bedford)

Formed a book group in Bedford more than 30 years ago and it is now probably on the point of expiring : I am kind of ancient, but still read widely and prefer something that needs an effort , eg classics, literary novels, biography ,for discussion (read a lot of crime, etc, also but don't specially want to discuss this!). Looking at your listings, I wondered about Ndidi's group, but don't know where / when it meets?

Quinn (Dunstable)

I'm both introvert and extrovert, I like quiet alone time most of the time but would like to get chatty about books. I like Brit Bennett, Jodi Picoult, Lesley Pearse and anything psychological thriller, D.I. Dan Riley books. I don't like big groups of people so even 1:1, and small groups is more my thing.

I'd like to join a book club to expand my reading to books and genre's I wouldn't necessary be drawn to. Getting to know new people would also be great. Anywhere near or in Bedford would be good.

I’m 26, a first time mum and I read all genres of books and especially love all kinds of romance books, even the dark ones lol. There is not one genre of books that I don’t own or read, I like to change it up so I don’t get into slumps. Would love to find a book club to meet people with similar interests and just have someone to chat books with!

Ndidi (Bedford)

I've started a book club called the Reading Nooks and Great Books Literary Club (think the Guernsey literary and potato peel pie society) where we tackle some of the world's greatest novels over lively discussion. The group is open to both new and seasoned readers of world classics. The main aim is to share our love for literature and the ways it has expanded our worldview. In doing so, we hope to echo Francis Bacon's idea of the good life: "old wood best to burn, old wine to drink, old friends to trust, and old authors to read." 📚🌼🌻📜 You can find the group on Meetup!

Ndidi recommends:

I read this over the summer last year and it was such an exciting read! It's got a little bit of everything for everyone: adventure, drama, romance, suspense and of course there are themes of love, forgiveness and kindness there. Such an engaging read, would highly recommend if you'd like to feel like a 12 year old again (in a good way)

Hello! 👋 I’m Josie, in my 20s, based near Shefford and love reading romance, crime/thrillers, and self-improvement books, though I’m open to all genres! I’d love to join a book club to meet new people and share great reads. Let me know if there’s a group I can join, or feel free to drop me a message if you’d like to chat about books in person over a cup of tea! 😊

Looking to make new friends with similar interests! My favourite genre is poetry, but I have delved in other genres over the years so will give anything a read so long as it seems promising. I’ve been writing and reading since I was in primary so it’s all a very deep passion of mine :)
