Droitwich Readers Group (Droitwich)

Meets at Droitwich Library on Run by Jacqueline Passey Library service We are a group of 12 that meet in the Gallery at Droitwich Library on a monthly basis. Our reading tastes are varied and we liase with the library to obtain the titles we selct to read. A sample of some of the titles we have read and discussed so far this year include The Thousand Autumns of Jacob de Zoet, Valentine Gray and the Swallows of Khabul. On our wish list for the coming months we have The Garden of Evening Mists, The Elegance of the Hedgehog and Before I Go to Sleep. They are hosted by Lin Smith and supported by the Worcestershire County Council Libraries Service. The Droitwich Library YA Reading Group, provided by the Worcestershire County Council Libraries, is open to teenaged members aged 15-18 and meets monthly, usually on either the second or third Tuesday. Bromsgrove Book Club (Bromsgrove)

Meets at No3a neighbourhood bar & Eatery on Run by Bromsgrove Book Club Library service Worcestershire County Council - Libraries We are a new group for 2023 and all are welcome to attend. The plan is to meet on the third Thursday of the month for a 7pm start. We look forward to getting book lovers in Bromsgrove together to discuss books in a friendly, social setting. The books we pick will be under 400 pages long, available in paperback and predominantly focus on popular fiction Come and join us for a chat and help us select the program of books for the following months. How to find us: There will be copy of the book on the table (so you know it's us) and time to grab a drink before the discussion starts. How the group runs: Read the set book beforehand (however if you are part way through and happy to hear spoilers, please feel free to join the discussion). Have a quick think about what you liked or didn’t like about the books and why. The meeting will start at 19:00 with some brief introductions around the group and a few words about if you liked the book or not. To start things off, the organizer will raise a topic or ask a question and then the floor is then open for discussion and will move in the direction the group takes it. All views and opinions will always be respected. At 19.45 we will have a break and will finish the discussion at ~20.15, with the option to continue socializing afterwards.
