Cheaper Than Therapy (Hereford)

Chat All Things Books And Life. I recently moved to Hereford from London and I'm looking to meet new like minded people to discuss books, arts, food, life and share reccomdations on the same. I have never hosted a book club (hopefully that won't scare you) but I was a member of one in London and I notice a lot of people on here from Herefordshire who are keen to join one so I thought I'd go ahead and try to set one up. A bit of context, I am a 33 year old woman who enjoys to read ANYTHING ! I love thrillers, rom-coms, mysteries, classics and fantasy along with the odd romantacy here and there 😉 I am open to anyone joining and would love to see what kind of interest this gets. Please let me know if you are interested and I'll be in touch once I get some responses!

Lucia Lulu (Bromsgrove)

Hi, I’m Lulu! I’m based in Redditch and work in the healthcare field, which keeps me busy but I’ve been craving something more nourishing outside of work: meaningful conversation, community, and space to just be myself. I’ve always loved storytelling whether through books, art, or everyday moments and I’d love to connect with others who enjoy exploring ideas, characters, and perspectives through reading. I’m looking to join a book group not just to read more (though that’s a lovely bonus!), but to meet new people, have good discussions, and share something intentional with others. I’m especially open to fiction, contemporary novels, or anything with strong themes and layered characters but I’m also happy to be surprised! Really looking forward to joining and seeing where the stories and the people take me.

Daniel (Worcester)

I’m a software engineer with a love for sharp writing, clever plots, and ideas that stretch the mind a bit. I read mostly science fiction, philosophy, and the odd classic—always looking for books that linger long after the last page. I enjoy a good debate, a bit of dry humour, and stories that don't insult the reader’s intelligence. Here to meet interesting people, hear different perspectives, and maybe find the next great book to rave about.

Lauren (Hereford)

****I don't think this site actually works - please reach out to me on insta ltyler_1**** 30 live in central Hereford, reading more and more and would love to share recommendations. Previously only read non-fiction but recently started enjoying fiction. However, I'm already sick of the typical crime based books. So keen to find out what else everyone is reading and make some new friends along the way.

A brilliant book about growing up poor and how this still impacts the author, even though they're no longer poor.

The only book I've read in a day. Couldn't put it down. A comforting fiction that explores the 'what ifs' of life and possible lives we didn't live.

Dystopian, haunting, elegant, thought provoking. It's hard to put into words how this book made me feel. It doesn't pretend to be a happy story. From the get go it is devastating. It took me a while to get over this book but I loved every second.

Janey (Malvern)

I moved here from Kent a year or two ago and miss the book group I used to go to. Would love to meet with others near me once a month to chat about books. I’m very flexible about subject etc, and am looking forward to meeting some other people who want to get out of a winter’s evening and do something with their brain!
