BigMan17K (London)

I very recently got into reading but find I love Sci-Fi and Fantasy genres a lot! Those and LITRPGs, although I don't know if that counts as a subcategory of one of the others. It would be really cool to meet people with similar interests and hopefully some great new recommendations.

BigMan17K recommends:

Fourth Wing by Rebecca Yarros

Not just this book, but the whole series just kept me at the edge of my seat! It was the first book I read, and the one that got me really into reading.

Timbles71 (London)

I am interested in a monthly book group. Quite like the idea of one that meets in a pub! I have always been in book groups and looking for one again so I read all sorts of different things with a much needed deadline.

Timbles71 recommends:

James by Percival Everett

Funny, moving, turns a classic on its head. Everett is a genius in whatever he turns his pen to.

Moses (London)

Londoner based in Camberwell. I read across genres but I'm drawn to epic fantasy, crime fiction, and non-fiction that gets into how people and systems actually work. Currently deep in a fantasy series that's now 19 books and counting. Previously: Mistborn, Gentleman Bastard, Sandman, and a lot of Robert Greene. I'm joining a book club for the conversation as much as the reading. I tend to read alone and fast, but talking through a book with people who've sat with the same pages is a different experience entirely. I'd also like to be pushed toward literary fiction I wouldn't naturally reach for. Monthly meetings suit my schedule. I show up prepared.

Moses recommends:

Project Hail Mary by Andy Weir

It's a story about friendship, overcoming adversity and the power of coming together for the greater good.

Moonriser (South East London) (London)

I have a broad range of books I like to read. For fiction, I really enjoy magical realism. However I just love a well written narrative and will read most works as long as they capture my imagination. For non-fiction, I love science, history, philosophy and anything about why people are who they are. I am based in South East London and would love to find fellow bookish and curious people to meet and read with and to pick apart our thoughts on books. Would love to find my reading kin! Amongst my favourite books are Half of a Yellow Sun - Chimamanda Ngozi Adichi One Hundred Years of Solitude - Gabriel García Márquez The Psychopath Test- Jon Ronson Mythos - Stephen Fry Sapiens: A Brief History of Humankind -Yuval Noah Harari

Inspyre Book Club (London)

The Inspyre Book Club is a relaxed community reading group. We choose a book, and then people come together to talk about it over conversation, tea, and shared reflection. It’s less about analysing the book like a classroom and more about hearing different perspectives and enjoying thoughtful discussion with others who love stories.

Ian (London)

Early 30s, have historically read a lot of genre fiction (SFF, mystery, some romance), also trying now to add some amount of both recent and classic literary fiction to my reading diet. Looking to find new books to read (both in and out of my traditional comfort zone) and have interesting conversations about them.

Emma (London)

I love hearing other people's different takes on a book and how that leads to interesting conversations and sharing of thoughts, feelings and ideas. Looking for more of that and the social and intellectual buzz that comes with it.
