Tom (London)

I recently just caught the reading bug again and don't want to lose it! Managed to finish off One Hundred Years of Solitude in just a few days and would definitely be down for joining a local book club or getting some recommendations. I am mainly based in Elephant and Castle.

Melancholic, nostalgic but calming, very well written book that investigates loss and relationships. Makes you travel in space and time.

Nina (London)

I am an avid 28yr old reader, looking to join a book club near me that meets regularly. I've kind of lost my rhythm with reading so hoping it gets me back on track to read at least 45-50 books in 2024. Would also love to meet new people and make new friends. I live in East London (Hackney area) so I would love it to be local.

Nina recommends:

This richly told and profound novel has everything you would want in a book. As someone who knows very little about Korean history, this book was absolutely fascinating. Rich, detailed characterisation draws us into the lives of these people and, at least for me, teaches us a chapter of modern history we might not have been aware of.

atenaneta (London)

Mostly read fiction, really enjoy classics but want to get more into modern literature, and like a good non-fiction from time to time. Would like to meet at least monthly, meet people to have interesting discussions with and challenge my interpretations. Some of my favourites; Russian literature in general like Master and Margarita or The Idiot, F.S. Fitzgerald, F. Kafka, more recent obsession: Seven Moons of Maali Almeida.

Holly (London)

I am a 30 year old looking for a book club that meets every month, to encourage myself to read more consistently and meet new people who also enjoy reading. I like a lot of different genres and open to any suggestion, although I usually enjoy fiction the most. One of my favourite books I’ve read in the past few years has been A Little Life and this year I really enjoyed Norwegian Wood, Before the Coffee Gets Cold and Tomorrow and Tomorrow and Tomorrow. I live in Chingford, London, so meeting somewhere in East London would be perfect
