Missing being part of a book club whether online or in person and wanting to get myself reading more books again. Into lots of genres from literary fic to fantasy but tend to stay away from romantic books and rom-coms, not totally adverse though!

Hi I'm a 44 year old mum of 2 teenagers. I've just recently moved to Banchory and would love to meet people with similar interests and one of my favourite things to do is read and talk about books! I'll read almost anything but my favourites are historical fiction and crime/police novels - especially Scottish ones! I would love to meet up once a month or so.

Hi, I'm a Kiwi from New Zealand. I've been here for five weeks and recently started my reading journey! I'm not sure if I've selected the correct county, so please let me know if I haven't. (I’m in Wrexham Wales!)I'm interested in joining a like-minded reading community and making friends while I'm here. Feel free to reach out! Xx

Ali04

Avid reader. Started with Enid Blyton at the age of 8 and have never stopped. The genre I prefer is historical fiction and crime but will try anything recommended to me. I have a Kindle but I do like a “proper” book too.

Sam

I love reading and am hoping to join (or even start) an Aberdeen bookclub for some banter and chat around books. I read a little bit of everything but love fantasy, romance, historical fiction, thrillers and Greek mythology.

Sam recommends:

Stone Blind by Natalie Haynes

It is a fantastic retelling of Medusa's story from a new perspective. It is funny and devastating and really makes the reader consider what makes a monster.

I've always wanted to join a book club. I enjoy most genres, but crime/noir is definitely my favourite.

Aidy

I have not been in a book club since I was a fiction book buyer for the much missed Ottakar's book shop, and do miss it. I am keen on all sorts of genres, from the classics to scandi noir.

Aidy recommends:

The Miracle Life of Edgar Mint by Brady Udall
