This is a historical novel, and I love how it combines an adventurous style with historical accuracy and intuition. The prose is very beautifully written. Luther Blisset is a collective author, which afterwards turned into Wu Ming. Wu Ming has also written many other great historical novels.

Warm Fantasy is my main genre for reading and writing. Inspired by Terry Pratchett. Readable biographies , though not of most sports players, and genuine memoirs of military folk are good. Books about regional life in all areas of the world are of interest. Weather, geology. geography, writing including poetry are also of interest.

This is the best Romantasy novel I've ever read. It has a cracking fantasy plot, a brilliant pairing of characters that are cool and unusual (for the genre; for instance they're in their 30s and 40s!) set in a world that I want to know more about. Just all around great.

A creative partnership. How two talented people can create something far bigger than either would've been able to do alone. Their genre is computer games, but the fractious friend / co-worker / annoyance dynamic applies to many creative fields (e.g. John and Paul?). Also a great description of the creative process, and the excitement of watching a company grow from two employees and a bedroom to a respectable force.

All ages welcome, sci-fi/fantasy books are on the menu. This is a new book group. We will meet monthy and choose the next month's book by informal vote at each meeting. The next meeting will be wed 7th May start at 6pm at the Cambridge brewhouse. The book; The fith season by N.K Jemisin. Come and talk about books. Completing the book is always optional.

I guess I read about two non-fiction books for each fiction book. There is a huge wealth of non-fiction books out there at the moment that seek to shed light on this crazy world we live in. I love the world of ideas and theories - the best book I have read recently was John Higgs 'Stranger than we can imagine'. I have recently retired, and have diverse interests including guitar making/playing and writing, and I am also looking to either join or start a book group that meets in person, preferably in central Cambridge (I live just north of Cambridge), to discuss works of non-fiction, that can be anything accessible to the lay-person. So it could be politics/society/history/science/economics/biography etc. Is there anyone or group out there of similar inclination?
