I enjoy intelligent conversations, meeting new people and finding humour in most things. I’m equally happy discussing psychology and philosophy or conversations that can drift from thoughtful to completely ridiculous. I value kindness, emotional intelligence and people who can be playful without taking themselves too seriously. I loved The Satsuma Complex because it’s funny, odd and genuinely warm-hearted. Bob Mortimer creates eccentric characters who still feel completely real, and the book balances mystery and humour brilliantly. It’s quirky without trying too hard, and it has a really comforting charm.
