Prize novel listener

I’ve read novels all my life but now enjoy listening to them more. I read mostly contemporary past or present prize winning authors who write beautifully but also tell a good tale & make me wonder what will happen even when I’m not reading/listening.

I’m in my late twenties and recently got back into reading, especially crime and sci-fi. I love getting lost in different worlds. I’m hoping joining a book club will help me connect with new people.

Fairy Godmother Inc. imagines a secret, inter-dimensional agency that balances magic and fate using “true love’s kiss”, but it isn’t all fairy-tale glamour. The books are a fun, modern spin on fairy tales, blending magic, romance, and adventure. They were the first books in a while that I couldn’t put down!

I read voraciously! I read Sydney Sheldon about 30 years ago and thoroughly enjoyed his books. I read a lot of science fantasy but also JM Dalgliesh and David Blake police procedurals. I am also about to start the new Dan Brown! I just love the written word

What is your hobby? As they always ask, I have tried many things from hiking to diving even jiu jutsu, but only reading really stuck and hopefully Pilates too. I started with Sidney Sheldon coupled with Science books (with photos). Got obsessed with Neil Gaiman stories. Currently going through Cat related books by Japanese authors.

I want to rediscover my love for reading, I have read and studied a lot of classics and now would like to find some new titles. And if I make some new friendships along the way then that would be an added bonus.

Libby

I enjoy both contemporary and historical fiction, don't like fantasy or science fiction but do know a book club is a good way to read books you may not choose yourself and can be pleasantly surprised - most of the time :)
