Melanie (Worksop)

I’m in my late twenties and recently got back into reading, especially crime and sci-fi. I love getting lost in different worlds. I’m hoping joining a book club will help me connect with new people.

Fairy Godmother Inc. Series by F. R. Black
Fairy Godmother Inc. Series
by F. R. Black | Buy this book
Fairy Godmother Inc. imagines a secret, inter-dimensional agency that balances magic and fate using “true love’s kiss”, but it isn’t all fairy-tale glamour. The books are a fun, modern spin on fairy tales, blending magic, romance, and adventure. They were the first books in a while that I couldn’t put down!

Red231 (Mansfield)

I’m relatively new to reading (listening) to books. I never enjoyed reading and found it very challenging but then I discovered audiobooks. I now love books and feel like I’ve been given access to a wonderful world I’d never been able to visit. I’m looking to meet new people and get lots of recommendations!

I love writing! I’m trying to get back into reading nore but it’s been difficult, so i think meeting likeminded people would help! I’m 18, I live in Nottingham and i’m particularly drawn to horror and philosophical themes.

I love how it shows the imperfections of humans and the horrors of mother hood. It leaves the reader to question nature vs nurture , and never gives us an answer.

LunaLana (Nottingham)

Looking to expand my social group and have an excuse to read new books

LunaLana recommends:

The Long Walk
by Stephen King | Buy this book
Is a good book for getting info on a character's psyche through difficult situations, and manages to avoid some of the usual flaws from Stephen King's work

I am retired and am looking for new hobbies as I find myself spending too much in the evenings on my iPad! Before moving to Farndon three years ago I enjoyed going to a Book Group in Beeston. However, this is too far to travel so I am looking for a local group to join. The aspects of a book group I particularly enjoy are reading books I wouldn’t necessarily have chosen myself and the group discussion about the book afterwards.
