L (Trowbridge)

I'm looking for a book club to keep my reading selection broad and to give me other perspectives on our book choices . I lean towards magical realism and fantasy but will read anything with interest. I'd hope to meet in a wheelchair friendly venue near warminster , Triwbeidge or Melksham monthly .

Joyand classics (Swindon)

I'm a senior citizen and I enjoy a broad range of literature . . .including historical fiction , classics and the many new authors that are always coming up. I'm always interested in other peoples opinions on what I've read.

Joyand classics recommends:

Vera by Elizabeth Von Arnim

The story is dark, 'comical' and moving all at once, which I feel is quite an unusual mix. I found it a real 'page turner' . . excuse the cliche.

Jo (Malmesbury)

I'm a pre-sleep reader who likes the idea of reading the the day but never gets around to it. I tend to like crime based writing but I'll have a go at most things. I'd like to meet people locally, talk about book recommendations and chat about the book (storylines, characters) and segue into TV, life, etc, but not really into deep and meaningful!

Emily (Salisbury)

I like nonsensical and gothic literature most. But i’ve enjoyed more philosophical and historical literature recently.

Emily recommends:

Jabberwocky and other nonsense
by Lewis Caroll | Buy this book
It’s a deep dive into the whimsical world of wonderland but in a comforting and entertaining way. A more relatable tale of events and rationalises the incomprehensible nature of nonsensical poetry.

Lady Violet (Melksham)

I will read anything from trashy romance to twisty thriller. I particularly get drawn in to the latest trending book, I can’t help myself

In memoriam by Alice Winn

This book explores forbidden romance in a time where it was illegal to be gay. It is set during the First World War and portrays not only the pain of not being able to love but the pain of war emotionally and physically.

I am 30 years old and looking for a nice group of people in my local town to talk books with. I am open to various books but left to my own devices, I will settle for a contemporary romance or something historical. I am open to some fantasy and sci-fi.

Hilary (Calne)

I read mainly by author when I've enjoyed more than two of their books ie McEwan, Julian Barnes. I would enjoy a book club or reading group as an alternative method of deciding on my next read. Also, a lively discussion about the book / author would be a pleasure too.

Isabella (Marlborough)

I’ve always been an avid reader and love nothing more than indulging in a good book (or many)! Catch me at a coffee shop reading or browsing the latest material in my local library or book shops. Would love to connect with likeminded locals (I’m in my late 20s so ideally someone similar) to chat all things fiction✨

I think it's kind of an eye opener where the book challenges our thoughts on money and how we make it.
