Joyand classics

I'm a senior citizen and I enjoy a broad range of literature . . .including historical fiction , classics and the many new authors that are always coming up. I'm always interested in other peoples opinions on what I've read.

The story is dark, 'comical' and moving all at once, which I feel is quite an unusual mix. I found it a real 'page turner' . . excuse the cliche.

I have had diverse careers which include BBC Television, legal services and for a CofE Diocese. I am retired but engaged in voluntary work and write quite seriously. I would like to join a local book club, as both a literacy and social activity, but also to ensure I make time to read as well as write.
