The author's writing style and quirky wit caught me after reading the first page; the well-developed plot and characters kept me intrigued until the very end. Think Phantom Tolbooth-esque dry humor and intelligence in a dark and twisted fantasy. Be warned, the second book is as good as the first, but we've been waiting for the third book to be released for more than ten years!

I have always been creative. I enjoy reading and started again last year having lost interest whilst raising my son. I am now on well on my way after reading 20 books in a year. We all get different things from the books we read, even the same ones. Meeting like minded people and the enjoyment they feel after reading a book.

I’ve always love reading and lecturing new genres and authors. I usually have 2 books on the go from the library plus a few more on Libby (the ebook service for Fife Libraries). I struggle a bit with audiobooks, probably because I like to concentrate on what I’m reading and lose myself in it, rather than doing other things at the same time like walking, ironing etc. I moved to Newport on Tay in July and would like to meet others who might share my interests in order to broaden my world. I look after my Edinburgh grandchildren one day a week and travel south to see my elderly mum for a week most months. I also travel to New Zealand in the winter to visit our son and his young family, so am away a bit. I hope that doesn’t preclude me from joining in at a book club when I can.
