Book clubs in Stafford

I first read this series in my early teens and awaited each new release with bated breath! They are incredible, I have never read anything like them. Fantasy, dragons, magic, friendships, family, battles etc, this story has it all

This book is unlike anything else I have read. I found it to be totally unique, and utterly gripping. It made me laugh, it made me cry; the story itself is so immersive. I would say it wasn't any easy read in that it is quite complex, but well worth it

Brilliant book! My first 5 star book of the year, follows Nickelodeon star who battles with abuse and an eating disorder whilst feeling lost when her abuser (her mum) dies and how to navigate adulthood. Brilliant book, a must read! ⭐️ ⭐️ ⭐️ ⭐️ ⭐️

Another book I really loved this year. Tells the Greek tragedy of Achilles and his lover Patroclus through the battle of Troy. A story of love, loss, pride, masculinity and softness. Left me (nearly) tearing up. Beautiful story of love and how it fits in lots of spaces ⭐️ ⭐️ ⭐️ ⭐️ ⭐️

It is an amazing series, with so many great characters and a great story. I’ve loved it since I was a teenager and it’s still one of my favourites. If you like fantasy and dragons, it’s the best book to read.

It is my current read, a real meaty story about one man's quest for independence in a tough and bleak rural world. Based in Iceland.

The suspense

My favourite book series growing up, every time I pick up one of these I can't put it down till I've finished it. You follow the journey of a farm boy who bonds with a dragon and is pulled head first into a world full of magic, rebellion and war.

Strong FMC raised in the slums, dark, tense and snarky humour followd by trials where nobody is safe. Each participant has bonded with a dire wolf and is granted magical abilities, to be used on the front lines of an ongoing war.

A more adult version of the inheritance cycle, dark and full of twists. Students who've bonded with dragons compete in a series of life-threatening tasks at a school for riders, training to fight in a war.

This series left me emotionally damaged.. yet I still can't wait to do it all over again when the third book comes out. Great FMC, character development and world building, spicy at times and enough twists and turns to keep you guessing.
