Daniel (Newcastle (Staffordshire))

Only just recently got into reading after having struggled with sitting down and reading a book for the longest time. Looking to get recommendations and hopefully have friends to motivate me to read new stuff. Spoilers: I'm a big horror fan I can't lie.

American Hippo by Sarah Gailey
American Hippo

For those who enjoy odd stories that are short and based off a what-if you never thought about, American Hippo is both odd and entertaining a read.

jordan (Uttoxeter)

Hiya, 23 year old here who have recently decided that she wanted to get into reading. I love romance like most other girls but I also love something psychologically challenging. I have been interested in some assassin stuff in the past but really I want to make friends who can get me out of the house and to expand my interests and have someone who I can talk to about my new found hobby. I have picked up a few books recently but it's been a challenge to start reading them because I'm a very unmotivated person. Due to mental health and physical issues I don't have much interest in anything but I've started to get back into old hobbies like painting and I know if I start reading I would love it like I used to in the past. I think I just need a push and having others recommend books or read them with me will be the push I need.

Our favourite genre is modern crime, mystery and thriller fiction - authors including Stuart Macbride, Steve Cavanagh, Tom Wood, Val Mcdermid and many others. We are hoping to meet and make new friends that share similar interests.
