Lady J (Newcastle (Staffordshire))

Currently reading Stephanie Hudsons books, she writes supernatural romance, I started with her hellbeast series, siren series, now the afterlife series (which is actually the first series of books) I’m reading the series in the wrong order as afterlife should have been first lol

Sydney (Stafford)

I’m Sydney, I’m 26 and would love to find some people I can share my book hyperfixations with. I am currently working my back through my book collection that I started collecting when I was a kid. So I’m reading a lot of teen fiction, but I enjoy most types of fiction. I’m trying to get back into reading, so having people to share it with would definitely help.

Sydney recommends:

It is an amazing series, with so many great characters and a great story. I’ve loved it since I was a teenager and it’s still one of my favourites. If you like fantasy and dragons, it’s the best book to read.

Brilliant book! My first 5 star book of the year, follows Nickelodeon star who battles with abuse and an eating disorder whilst feeling lost when her abuser (her mum) dies and how to navigate adulthood. Brilliant book, a must read! ⭐️ ⭐️ ⭐️ ⭐️ ⭐️
The Song of Achilles by Madeline Miller

Another book I really loved this year. Tells the Greek tragedy of Achilles and his lover Patroclus through the battle of Troy. A story of love, loss, pride, masculinity and softness. Left me (nearly) tearing up. Beautiful story of love and how it fits in lots of spaces ⭐️ ⭐️ ⭐️ ⭐️ ⭐️

EP (Rugeley)

Moved to the area and made zero effort to meet any new people! I love getting lost in a book...the ones where you can't wait to pick it back up to find out what happens next, and keep thinking about it days after you've finished it. Books that are beautifully written and challenge you to think, regardless of genre. Interested to meet local readers.

Mima (Stoke-on-Trent)

I was a complete bookworm during high school and college, growing up reading Jaqueline Wilson and being part of the magical world of Harry Potter but as I got older, life and social media completely consumed me. However that feeling I get from reading a book, has never changed and I would love to have people to share their thoughts and feelings when reading the same book as myself. I’m a fiction reader who loves a bit of romance (mainly the comedy form), mystery/thriller, mythological, historical and literary realism.

Mima recommends:

As Long As The Lemon Tree Grows by Zoulfa Katouh
As Long As The Lemon Tree Grows
by Zoulfa Katouh | Buy this book
If you liked ‘Kite Runner’, you will definitely love this book. There is a certain rawness about the way Zoulfa has written the book, it makes you feel like you’re walking alongside the main character, cheering her on as she navigates the harshness of what life offers her. The literary realism of this book is what makes you carry on reading, not wanting to put it down as you wish for the fairytale happy ending to counteract the despondency of real life.

Hiiii! My names poppy and I’m 23. I’ve always been into reading but recently stumbled back into it! I have a huge TBR that just keeps getting bigger! I love romance (spicer the better) and fantasy! Joined this as I feel like I have no one to rave about books with. Would love to have someone to read a book the same time as me and we can geek out abouts what going irl!
