ChaosPixie (Stoke-on-Trent)

My name is Jade, I am 37, vast approaching 38. I am really keen on joining a book club, to help motivate my reading again after having a sizeableprriod of time in a reading slump, to meet new friends and to branch out from my typical reading genre preferences. I am having trouble locating a book club that has any spaces available, coild anyone please recommend a group, provide contact info fod a potential group or maybe point me in the direction of where it is I need to be searching online, as opposed to my simply searching 'Stoke-on-Trent bookclubs', as this isn't getting me very far! I used to absolutely love reading, I would fly through books at a rate of knots, and it really was a great escape for my mind. I really would love to reignite my love for this hobby, once again! Help me book worms!! X

Celaena123 (Newcastle (Staffordshire))

Romantasy has got me into reading in my mid 20’s but I’m open to other genres. Looking for a local book club as an opportunity to meet new friends who may also share my love for characters such as Xaden Riorson, Rhysand, Cassian and Kingfisher to name a few🤣🫶🏼 Love an oat milk flat white and a good natter x

JoeyB (Newcastle (Staffordshire))

I love to read, always have. Fantasy is my absolutely favourite but I have read a few romantasies of late which I adore! I’ve written a book too which I’m being lazy about doing something with. Really would love to get involved with a group of like-minded people about stories.

Chloee_17 (Newcastle (Staffordshire))

I’m Chloe, I’m 28, born and raised in Stoke on Trent. I have a love for reading (usually accompanied by a cup of tea) however find it difficult to make time with daily demands. I enjoy any type of murder mystery / thriller novel but I am always open to new recommendations! Unfortunately my nearest and dearest don’t share my passion for reading and I’d love to join a club, or maybe be brave and create one, to meet like minded people x

Stoke Romantasy (Stoke-on-Trent)

Ok gimme a sec... I've been browsing this site for a while and haven't found a book club in stoke specific to this genre. I might dabble in some of the other genres but Romantasy and Fantasy is my bread and butter. Completely new club for like minded guys and girls who share the same interests and might want to meet up and make new friends along the way! If I can gather up a few people on here, we can get going with a book choice and 1st meet up 😍 Talk soon!

Katie (Stoke-on-Trent)

I'm Katie, 33 and mum of one. I've been in to reading forever but it dropped of for a while in my 20's. I picked it back up a few years ago and have been non stop since. I love kindle unlimited and really enjoy romantasy and general fantasy. My latest reads are Brimstone and Kissed by the Gods. I'm recently separated after a long relationship and find I'm quite lacking in the friend department. Would love to join a club and get to know some new like minded people!

Chante (Lichfield)

26 year old South African. Just moved to the area after working for a few months on the Isles of Scilly. I’m someone who loves diving into books and exploring new worlds through reading. Whether it’s fiction, non-fiction, or anything in between, I’m always looking for stories that make me think, feel, or learn something new. I’m joining a book group because I want to connect with others who share that passion for reading. I believe that discussing books with others can deepen your understanding and bring out new perspectives that you might not have thought of on your own. Plus, I enjoy hearing about what others are reading and getting recommendations for books I might not have discovered on my own.

Chante recommends:

Normal People by Sally Rooney
Normal People
by Sally Rooney | Buy this book
It captures the complexity of human relationships in such an honest, intimate way. Sally Rooney has a unique writing style that feels both raw and restrained, which makes the emotional moments hit even harder. The relationship between Connell and Marianne is so layered. It’s not just about romance, but about communication, class, identity, and the struggle to understand oneself while trying to connect with someone else. What really stands out is how normal everything feels, in the best way. There are no dramatic plot twists or exaggerated characters. It’s the quiet, everyday moments that carry emotional weight. The dialogue feels real, the silences speak volumes, and the story highlights how love doesn’t always follow a clear or easy path. It’s also a book that stays with you. Even after finishing it, you find yourself thinking about the characters and the choices they made. That lasting emotional impact is part of what makes it so powerful.
