I loved this book for many many reasons. One of the main being the very complex yet relatable characters. The novel explores the intricacies of family relationships.

Michelle Morris (Abertillery)

I’ve recently moved to wales ( valley area ) I would love to start a book club to help connect people and build genuine friendships with a shared interest in reading. Meet up would be once a month Sunday or Monday and a group chat through messenger. I personally love romance novels but we would cover all genres to try keep things interesting and hopefully cover everyone’s preferences.

I’m hoping to find some fellow ACOTAR girlies for a fortnightly or monthly meet up and coffee date. I’ve lived in Newport for a year now and would like to make some friends in the area :)

Blackwood Book Club (Cwmbran)

Planning to start up soon - looking for folks who are in Blackwood or nearby surrounding areas. I’m hoping to make this a monthly evening book group where we each host at our homes and everyone brings potluck-style food (or pick a pub/other venue when it’s our turn to host). We’d select books several months in advance so everyone has a chance to put requests in at the library/share books. And meetings would be a mix of book discussion and getting to know each other.

I just moved to the area and have been part of two great book clubs in the past - they were focused on community and friendship with a sprinkle of books thrown in. Would love to find or build something similar.

Newport Bookclub (Newport)

Absolutely up for a better name but maybe we'd pick it as a group?? Chilled book club where we read a bit of everything (nothing too literary and nothing too trashy) I would love to meet up maybe once a month? As well as being online. I'm 29 but open to anyone of any age joining (I think different perspectives would be amazing!)

Page Turner (Newport)

I am a prolific reader of fiction. Horror, historical, psychological, crime and suspense rock my boat. The odd comedy and biography make their way into my reading list. I'm not a sci-fi, fantasy or romance kinda gal. I read every day and my favourite inanimate object is my Kindle. When I find a book or an author that I like, I want to talk about it! I'd love to be part of a book club with similar minded people.

Page Turner recommends:

The Housemaid
by Frieda McFadden | Buy this book
There's nothing I like better than finding a great book, unless it's finding an author who has written a series of great books. Frieda McFadden's "The Housemaid" kept me reading into the small hours. She builds suspense with the skill of an architect. She weaves small clues throughout so that the twist, when it comes, is credible and the reader is left open mouthed in a state of total belief. I can't wait to read The Housemaid's Secret. Who needs to sleep, anyway?....
