The Librarian 68 (King's Lynn)

I'm 57 year old easy going guy and have always loved reading. I'm mainly into crime/murder mystery books. I work four days a week but have recently reduced my hours. I have been in a book club before and enjoy chatting about what we have read. I would like to make new friends locally around my age and to meet new people who love books too!

The Librarian 68 recommends:

The Crossing Places by Elly Griffiths

The first in a series of novels about the adventures of an archeologist Ruth and how she is drawn into police investigations by DCI Harry Nelson. They are all set in King's Lynn and Norfolk for added local interest. My favourite author, she writes mysteries around other characters too. A must if you like twisty murder/mysteries that will have guessing who did it!

Mandy (Diss)

I'm a non-stop reader of almost anything, though fantasy is a challenge for me. I'm looking to meet up with a group of lovely people regularly to talk about our reading.

A History of Loneliness by John Boyne

I'm reading this book at the moment - I will finish it tonight - and it's exceptional. A deep, disturbing look at the life of a priest in Ireland that is also tender and loving. It addresses some difficult issues and stirs a whole range of emotions. A well researched and beautifully written piece of work that I will be sad to leave behind.

Ian (Fakenham)

i'm a musician, kind of a binge reader insofar as i'll plod through one book taking forever and then bang through another 2 or 3 at the same time. i wasted a lot of time at school being a muso and the class clown and it was only when spending long hours in orchestra pits i found i needed something to both distract me and keep me focused, so i started reading and i love it. i'll read pretty much anything: almost the entire 'tudor' series from philippa gregory, carlos ruiz zafon, richard osman (doesn't everybody?), garrison keillor, don delillo, bret easton ellis, john irving, a.s. byatt, fiction, biographies, history, suggest it and i might have a look. if i'm not playing the trumpet...

Heather (Norwich)

I’m 27 and have got back into reading after getting ACOTAR at the start of the year. I’m open to all genres but romance/fantasy are definitely my favourite. I would love to connect with people with similar interests and discuss books, as my non-reading boyfriend is definitely sick of me!

This series is absolutely incredible! I have thought about it every day since finishing it. The world building, plot twists and character arcs are brilliant. P.S. I am team ‘don’t read assassins blade first!’

Hardly Hardy (Swaffham)

I'm a 53 year old woman who is disabled, I love literature, especially the Classics... I would love to join a bookclub. I'm a great believer in reading being a luxury that we take for granted. To be able to suspend ones reality and immerse oneself into a good book is my idea of heaven!

Eliza (Dereham)

Hi, I hope you are well! I am a 24-year-old who is trying to rediscover my love of reading. I think being part of a book club would motivate me to read; I would also love to discuss, to exchange ideas with people, and to understand their views! I have a lot of time on my hands, so any time is excellent for me. Happy to travel around Dereham, as far as Norwich!
