The isolation it creates in your mind. You truly are alone in this world, and the impending doom which comes with it; your species on the brink of death, with the new evolution remembering you only as a legend.
The Road by Cormac McCarthy

The depression, which this book creates so well. That even should one survive the cold, there is no food - and should one find nourishment, there are dangerous cannibals; that any hope which exists is temporary, and it shall die off too.

Lizzi (Nottingham)

I love escaping to other worlds in any way I can, whether that’s through reading, writing, gaming, film, and so on. I’d love to find a space where I can make some new friends, discuss fun books, and maybe stumble upon some good reads I wouldn’t have discovered on my own. I’m horror obsessed, and if there’s any horror specific book clubs about that would be a dream. I’m currently reading The Shining and can’t believe it’s taken me this long to pick up! What a ride. But I also love fantasy, lgbtq+ romance, thrillers, sci-fi, and anything fiction really!

How we react to things is what builds our character. It is our choice at each fork in the road that leads to what we ultimately desire and willing to show grit for.
