Andrew Grout (Witney)

I’m a self confessed bookworm - I always have a book on the go. Until now I’ve always liked the private world that literature creates in your head. I find myself interested in discussing books with other people now. I’m middle aged and live just outside Burford. I like fiction mainly. Any book clubs out there in the vicinity?

Caitlin (Oxford)

Looking to join a new book club! Had a fab one in London (we read food themed fiction and memoir and then cooked each other dishes from the book, 10/10) but living in Oxford now and keen to get involved. I read all sorts, particularly enjoy literary fiction, thoughtful sci-fi and some historical stuff, but have been known to read any and all genres

I am an active over-60 man interested in languages, chess, walking and ... books! I read novels, fantasy and non-fiction. Never joined a book club and am curious as to whether I might find like-minded people in one?

Zoe (Oxford)

A 30ish y-o charity worker, mostly a reader of fantasy, but also a enjoy a feminist treaty, a gothic classic, or a dystopia... Actually will read most things! I'm looking for a small group that meets once a month with cosy vibes (the dream is taking turns hosting and bringing cake and/or wine!).

Zoe recommends:

Set in an orphanage island for magical children, this is mix of fantasy and social justice, with a queer love story in the background. This is both funny and tender, in a lovely prose.

Kezia (Oxford)

My name is Kezia, I’m 31 and recently moved to Oxford from London. I am a secondary school English teacher, so I’m lucky enough to be able to share my passion for reading with the younger generation. I am really keen to meet likeminded people in Oxford, and a book club is a great way to do this, as I’m an avid reader but also very sociable.

Mals (Abingdon)

I’m 25 and I love to read! Unfortunately don’t get as much time for it anymore. I use to run my own virtual book club a few years ago during COVID and loved meeting new people. Really keen to get back into the rhythm!

peach (Didcot)

I got back into reading over the last few years since upgrading my e-reader. It’s now my favourite hobby, along with gaming. I read mostly fantasy and sci-fi, but I also enjoy horror, thrillers & historical romance. I’ll try anything as long as it’s fiction haha I would love to meet up either online or in person to chat about books & hopefully make some friends :)
