Absolutely phenomenal Gibson could come up with such ideas in 1984. It’s easy to see how this along with the first cinematic imagining of Blade Runner (adapted from works of Philip K Dick), paved the way for the entire “cyberpunk” genre people know and love today. The book itself is fast paced and visceral. The characters do indeed feel real from the start. A timeless classic; I also highly recommend the audiobook for this on Spotify (narrated by Jason Flemyng).

The plot twists are great

This book is such a powerful reflection about how people relate to each other, about the complexities of human interaction and the passage of time. Virginia Woolf is such a descriptive writer, and I found myself having to pause every couple of pages to really appreciate what she'd written.

Read for the first time in my teens and I was obsessed. Read it so many times since. Especially love the part where Jonathan Harker is at Draculas castle and sees so many horrors and realises he's a prisoner there. Wish someone would do a decent film adaptation instead of butchering it.

I love the way Rooney writes: matter of fact but also relatable and conversational. Believable. I enjoyed it thoroughly, enough to read it twice! I also enjoyed the BBC series.

The beauty of Read's description of the wilderness and nature in the Colorado mountains will live rent free in my mind for a long time. Her writing is very atmospheric with beautiful characters.

It’s a retelling of Hades and Persephone. It has a modern touch and is filled with self discovery, romance, magic and just enough of Persephone being a badass.

Very interesting plot, gets you guessing on who is the person who's doing the murders, set in the tudor times.

The way Anne is expressing her thoughts and that at the very young age of 13 years old is beyond my imagination.

The first fantasy book I ever read. Such an easy read. Romantacy. Such a good plot and a very good/ shocking plot twist at the end which had me itching to read the next books!
