I really enjoy reading and it would be great to meet other people who also love books. I like a range of genres and am keen to expand my literary horizons

Phil M
Retired teacher with eclectic reading tastes keen on walking, reading and Yorkshire. Last three books I read were Demon Copperhead by B. Kingsolver, How they broke Britain by J.O'Brien and Escape Artist by J. Freedland. Keep adding to my reading Bucket List to guarantee immortality. Always looking for book recommendations.
Phil M recommends:
![The Trees by Percival Everett](/rails/active_storage/blobs/redirect/eyJfcmFpbHMiOnsibWVzc2FnZSI6IkJBaHBBbDBKIiwiZXhwIjpudWxsLCJwdXIiOiJibG9iX2lkIn19--c23431b69ae3eec127857422417d77e8fd37a35b/9781035036615.jpg)
The Trees
Like any great satire this book is side splittingly funny and terrifyingly sombre. Set in the Deep South of USA it is essentially a whodunit with the murders occurring with cartoon like regularity. I have told so many about this book and am looking for more Everett - the guy's a genius!
