A well-established book group that has recently lost members as they have moved out of London We read fiction, but avoid classics as many people have read them/some. We are very open but have some rough guidelines: fiction, 400 pages or less. That's it. The number of pages is hopefully to mean that if a book isn't to your taste then you have a chance of reading it and supplementing it with something you don't like. If you don't finish, come anyway! We take it in turns to choose a book a d meet in a pub, usually in the King's Cross area but not too strict, and like wine with our books!

I love classics and coming-of-age stories but I’m open to any genre. I’m a mom of a toddler trying to keep my sanity through reading books. Looking to join a bookclub in central London!

Beckenham-based, liberal, francophile doctor, moulded by Steinbeck, Vonnegut and a large pinch of Pratchet, worked over by a career of scientific rationalism, spat out of the sausage machine of conformity, now running my stick along the railings of life, learning how to spit with my purple dressed wife, looking for literary buddies in Beckenham or Bromley to broaden my atrophied reading habit.
