Hi!. I’m an avid reader of fantasy, fiction, ya and thrillers. I really don’t mind any type of genre as long as the book is fast paced and interesting. Two of my favourite books are the poppy wars and a thousand splendid suns. I would like to join a book club where you meet every month and discuss the book.

It delves into that really shows the horrors of war and sheds light on many important topics such as racism, sa and sexism to name a few. I recommend looking up the tw before reading however it is a beautiful book with amazing world builders and incredibly complex characters.

I'm Aidan from North-west London (Kensal Rise). I'm really into reading and love exploring all sorts of genres, from classics to contemporary fiction and non-fiction. I'm looking to join a book club because I think discussing books with others makes the whole reading experience even better. It's great to hear different perspectives and get new book recommendations. I also enjoy meeting new people and think a book club would be a fun way to connect with others who share my love for reading.

Su

Never joined a book club before so this is a first. I WFH so I would love to be able to get out of the house more and meet like-minded people who are passionate about books and anything bookish related. I'm a Black Muslim Woman so it would be great to meet people of similar background but I'm open to everyone from all walks of life. I enjoy fantasy, historical fiction, literary fiction (speculative, translated), sci-fi. I would love to indulge in other people's thoughts and views about books they have read and discuss till we're dry in the mouth.

It is a hard book to stomach but important for understanding the levels of unimaginable cruelty the "comfort women" (Korean girls) were subjected under Imperial Japan.

Hello! I'm an avid reader with a keen interest in science, history, and philosophy. I love books that expand my knowledge and offer new perspectives on subjects I previously knew little about. I also enjoy historical narratives, always seeking to understand the world and our context better. I'm excited to join a book club to share insights and discover new thought-provoking reads

If Nietzsche Were a Narwhal by Justin Gregg

It explores how non-human animals perceive the world and compares their cognitive abilities with humans. It argues that humans' intellectual traits, which we consider superior, might actually lead to our self-destruction, while simpler animal cognition might be more effective for survival. The book blends humor, philosophy, and science to challenge our understanding of intelligence and suggests that humans' cognitive complexities aren't necessarily the pinnacle of evolution but a different, sometimes problematic path. I like it fresh perspective on survival and intelligence. It makes me feel very grounded.

Hi I'm a university student looking to get into reading and trying to be consistent with it. I enjoy reading but find it difficult to get myself to sit down for a long time to actually read. I'd like the accountability that a book club with give me and I'd also love to meet other people who are interested in reading.

Amy

25F based in South London (Wandsworth Borough). I want to start a local book club but have no idea where to start, so I thought I'd post here! I love books but need the kind of motivation to read that a book club would give me. I am into general fiction, mystery, fantasy, sci-fi, contemporary, classics and open to anything else. Some of my favourite books are The Secret History, Lonely Castle in the Mirror and The Kite Runner. Also love weird books like Bunny by Mona Awad. If you are relatively local and want to help start a book club/already have one let me know !!
