I am a 23 year old who used to love reading as a child but slowly stopped making time for it over the years. Looking for a way to get back into reading that keeps me accountable and also to meet new people. I currently read a lot of self improvement books but open to anything.

I moved to Beckenham in 2017 with my wife. I used to be an avid reader but fell away from it for some reason, however this year I'm making an effort to read more! I'm a Kiwi/Aussie who moved to the UK 22 years ago, and would like to meet other people to discuss books.

I enjoy the classics and epics - particularly anything with mythological or religious narrative and symbolism. I also read non-fictions about these topics, often with philosophical or sociological leanings. Never been to a book club before, but would love to talk to people about these fascinating things - with what little I know and so much I could learn from others about these huge topics.

Goodbye, Columbus

There's something majestic and nearly magical about Philip Roth's writing style. This book had my full attention when I was reading it. One of the five short stories "Epstein" gave me a type of O.Henry's impression. Recommend it.

Cosyreads

I like, romance, fantasy teen fiction, psychological fiction and non fiction, thrillers and more, but really to define it outside genres, I love emotional books that will wreck you. That's why my favourite book is As Long As The Lemon Trees Grows, as a young adult with a lot of free time at home, I think I need to join a book club to have some social interaction.

Cosyreads recommends:

As Long As The Lemon Tree Grows
by Zoulfah Katouh | Buy this book
This book is incredible, I love how realistic it feels on many levels, which means the author has extensive knowledge or research and I find that to be quite admirable in modern books to have. It is quite emotional, it will lead you to read more books of its kin, if not research actual history.

I became completely entangled by this book, equally delighted, mystified, and intrigued. I've passed it on to several people and enjoyed good conversations on what we thought the book was about (everyone has their own take!)/
