Linnifer (Birkenhead)

Love reading - mainly fiction, but sometimes history and travel. I’ve been in a book club before and really enjoyed stepping out of my comfort zone and discovering new genres and new authors. I don’t get to talk about books as much I used to, and I miss that.

Leafygreens2 (Liverpool)

I really like mystery/thriller/gothic horror books. My favourite book I read last year was Lapvona. I would love to organise/join a book club that could meet up regularly. I'm also 25!!

Dark book about terrible people doing terrible things. Light sprinkling of magic/mysticism
Madame Bovary by Gustave Flaubert

What a book! Possibly my favourite ever. A book about boredom and tedium which doesn't sound exciting but it really does deliver. Famous for a reason.

Phil (St Helens)

I’m Phil, very much a latecomer to fiction and I’m still seeking my go to genre. I love a good thriller, or anything engaging and entertaining to be honest, although sci-fi & fantasy has never appealed. I’d love to join a group If anyone could recommend?

Phil recommends:

How to Stop Time by Matt Haig
How to Stop Time

It was truly entertaining, ironically on the fantastical side, but very much enjoyed by someone who says he doesn’t favour fantasy, it was easy and relaxing. I can’t offer much more of a synopsis as I can’t remember but I recalled drifting along with the plot every night and then missing it once read.

Gideon Jones (Southport)

Hi I am a soon to be retired barrister who regularly swims at the EHU pool. The enquiry I am about to make is probably one you are familiar with so I apologise in advance if it rankles in any way. I am a recently published KDP author who is looking for people to review my debut novel on Amazon. To this end, I would be very happy to provide free copies of the novel to any of your members who would like to assist. I write under the name Gideon Jones. You can find out a little about myself and the novel at gideon-jones.com. I should make clear at the outset that the offer of a free copy is not in any way designed to attract positive reviews. All reviews, whether positive or negative, would be gratefully received. Kind regards Gideon Jones
