Usually historical non-fiction, and fiction genres are varied, but I tend to stay away from horrors or psychological thrillers! Have missed being in a book club since I moved to the north east.

I’m an avid reader of quality contemporary fiction but also open to reading other genres including travel and nature writing. Writers I particularly enjoy include Donna Tartt, Rose Tremain, William Boyd, Julian Barnes as well as younger writers like Sally Rooney. Happy to share hosting and set up a new group if there’s interest.

Thrillingnpschological thriller, the Starr if a trilogy. Very well written and despite the nature of the book, Daniel writes with a lot of humour. The trilogy is fantastic and keeps you guessing throughout.

Like any great satire this book is side splittingly funny and terrifyingly sombre. Set in the Deep South of USA it is essentially a whodunit with the murders occurring with cartoon like regularity. I have told so many about this book and am looking for more Everett - the guy's a genius!
