John (Selby)
I have lived in Selby for 32 years. A man, sociable, widowed last year. University educated and work locally. I have always been a book person and recently had a career change. I would like to get back into books, mainly to give me some mental stimulation but also spend occasional times talking with others with the same interest.

Chris Gill (Skipton)
I'm a traditionally published author (Yorkshire publisher: Fisher King Publishing) from the Yorkshire Dales. My most recent novel, 'The Butcher Boys', is a story about friendship, rivalry and identity set in a Dales village in the 70's, 80's and 90's. (Tinyurl.com/5n7ue8rr). I am looking for Yorkshire book clubs that might be interested in me coming to give a talk about my novel. Please feel free to contact me at 'Chrisdavidgill67@gmail.com'. Thank you. 😊

Ione (Helmsley)
I enjoy reading all sorts - as long as it’s well written! I like being in a book group as I get to read things I wouldn't normally choose. I prefer literary fiction. As an artist my working life is often quite solitary so getting to know people is a key motivator.

I live part of the year in Robin Hood's Bay and part of the year in Sheffield. I read a lot, mainly contemporary fiction - I follow women's writing particularly and I like reading novels that challenge me as well as ones that are just entertaining! I'd love to join a book group in Whitby, Robin Hood's Bay or Scarborough.
