Samantha Cash

My sister (28) just moved to Oxford, and I (31) will be staying with her for almost two months. We're looking for a fun, like-minded group to gather with and discuss our favorite books. Both of us are passionate readers and have enjoyed being part of several book clubs in the past. Our tastes are eclectic—everything from romance and fantasy to hard science, non-fiction, and horror. We’re always down for casual meetups at the pub, but we especially love the idea of themed events!

This book is just a delight! If I had to give an elevator pitch it would be: the princess Bride, but Buttercup gets to be the rescuer… and also kinda Dr. Who. Synopsis: Tress leaves her peaceful island home to go on a pirate adventure to rescue the love of her life from an evil witch. ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️

I have a love of all things weird or speculative (sci fi, body horror, afrofuturism...) and am always curious about books that will open my mind. Shift-worker so I keep strange hours.

Melancholy, full of folklore and imagination. Ultimately a love-letter to female friendships and a lamentation that romantic (straight) relationships often take advantage of women.

I'm a 22 year old software developer living in Oxford (though in Ireland from Jan - March). Would love a regular place to discuss books / ideas. Philosophy (or adjacent) books are my favorite but very open! I'm a fan of Aristotle, Nietszche, and Camus.

Would like to meet up regularly, maybe once a month. Love most fiction, especially sci-fi (Pratchett). Would also be happy to discuss non-fiction.

Looking to join a new book club! Had a fab one in London (we read food themed fiction and memoir and then cooked each other dishes from the book, 10/10) but living in Oxford now and keen to get involved. I read all sorts, particularly enjoy literary fiction, thoughtful sci-fi and some historical stuff, but have been known to read any and all genres

Used to belong to an amazing independent book club which totally broadened my genres and books that I would have been ignored. Love fiction but not a fan of science fiction or fantasy. I am an avid reader and miss a local gathering to discuss a chosen book.
