Kirkoswald Reading Group
Meets at The Crown Inn on Run by Nick Anderson Library service We are a mixed group who borrow our books from Cumbria Library Service, and meet about once a month, on a Wednesday evening, in a pub in our village. Our tastes are varied, and we all help to produce the longlist for the books that we will read. Our discussions are not terribly highbrow, and our only rule is that if you are not enjoying that months book, please put it down and read something else - life is too short to read books that you are not enjoying. Meets at Queens Head on Run by Judith Morris Library service We meet on the first Monday of the month at 8pm in our local pub, The Queens Head at Tirril near Penrith. We borrow the books from the local library as a Group - so no need to buy any books. There are about 12 of us and it is very informal - we jointly select the books in advance for the coming 12 months. We meet for about an hour and discuss what we have read the previous month - no-one is expected to make a presentation or lead the discussion - it just evolves.
