My mother, Kerstin Eadie has recently moved from Birmingham to Porthmadog to live with us. She has always been part of Book Groups and has left 2 groups that she was part of for 20 years in Birmingham. She is 87 and the book groups have been a big motivator for in her reading. We have been told there is a book group locally at the library. Would it be possible to find out more.

My partner and I recently moved into the area and i'd like to meet new people and make new friends. I am a creative writer and used to read a lot of non-fiction. I've got out of the habit of reading and i'd love to get back into books and discussion about all things books.

Porthmadog library reading group

Meets at Porthmadog library on Run by Anna Yardley Jones Library service We are a group of 12 ladies of varying ages and we meet up once a month at Porthmadog library on a Thursday afternoon. We each take a turn to choose a book and give a short presentation on it(nothing highbrow or literary). We enjoy a lively debate and everyone makes an effort to read a few pages of the chosen title even if it isn\'t their usual cup of tea! We break for a drink and a chat and then discuss what we have been reading during the past month giving each other recommendations on what to choose next or what to avoid!
