Caroline (Caernarfon)

Hi, I have always read books throughout my life but find I need the stimulation to read through membership of a bookclub. There is so much to distract one from reading these days with social media, the Internet etc. By the way Caernarfon is not spelled "Caernarvon"! Caroline

Caroline recommends:

Normal People by Sally Rooney
Normal People

It's very thoutful and humane
The Country Girls by Edna O'Brian
The Country Girls

It was very modern in its day in a very traditional Irish culture ruled tightly by the Catholic Church. It is also funny and touching

Zlatina (Holyhead)

I'm 28, live on Anglesey and love to read. It would be great to be able to geek out about books with other readers! I mostly read fiction but would give anything a go as long as it's well-written :)

Jacqueline Gregory (Beaumaris)

I am moving to Anglesey at the end of this month and looking to find a book club to join. I am currently member of a fabulous book club in Shrewsbury I enjoy many genres, but my preferences are generally, historical fiction and thrillers. Some of my favourite reads are: FIngersmith by Sarah Waters, All of the ken Follett trilogies, All the light we cannot see Anthony Doerr, Hamnet Maggie O'Farrell I hope to meet people with a similar love for reading to discuss different elements in the book and to support a dying reading culture
