Jess (Fowey)

I'm Jess, 30 and after not reading for years, I finally picked up a book for the first time last January and haven't looked back. I'm really into Romantasy and psychological Thrillers. I've recently moved to Fowey from Wigan and would love to meet people with similar interests.

Mostlyonflightmode (Truro)

I mostly read narrative non-fiction at the moment (history, technology, psychology, philosophy, politics, true-crime, biography), but previously read lots of fiction as well (especially speculative, historical, fantasy, sci-fi, classics). I'm fairly new to Cornwall and would like to be introduced to new work by fellow readers while meeting new and interesting people.

Diane (St Ives)

I am a semi retired person who moved to the area in 2010. I live in a very sparsely populated place, with Ceri, a border collie and my husband. I have aways been a voracious reader, and I enjoy a wide variety of genres, including crime and thrillers. I would love to be able to share views and discuss recent reads whilst meeting new people.

WordLadySophie (Penryn)

My main motivation is the social aspect, I LOVE talking about books, art, film etc. so I'd like to join a book club to meet new people and to have a bloody good chat about what we've read over a glass of wine. For escapism, I like the kind of stuff they talk about on Sara Cox's Between The Covers. For mind-expansion, I also like non-fiction books on pre-history, history, science, women's health, feminism, psychology, art history & poetry. I'm open to having a go at starting a book club with others too. Penryn is ideal, could do Falmouth.

WordLadySophie recommends:

Circe by Madeline Miller
Circe

Feminist retelling of the mythical character Circe, usually portrayed as a terrifying witch but cleverly and enjoyably re-written by Miller to be an exiled woman finding the strength to face the challenges of her life and world.
