Dot H (Ashbourne)

I like well written modern fiction - William Boyd and Graham Swift for example - and also fond of short stories. I am open minded and nterested in some other genres and will give most things a try.

I love reading romance, historical and fantasy books. I would love to meet a few times a month to discuss different books, get new recommendations and meet new people. I work as a primary school teacher so evenings and weekends are all open for reading 😁😁

Danielle (New Mills)

Lives in New Mills. Reading has always been a solitary hobby but the books I tend to read would be awesome to discuss with other people to see what they think, as I think 2 people can read the same book and come away with completely different things. Currently reading: A Little Life

Vicki (Ilkeston)

I love books and love nothing better than snuggling under a blanket and getting lost in a story but would also love to share the books with like minded people. I work from home a lot so getting out the house to meet up would be something I would benefit from but where are all the local book clubs? Favourite genre is psychological thrillers but love some fantasy and dark romance along with contemporary and historical fiction…..if a book cover talks to me I’ll read it

ChrisH72 (Chesterfield)

Hi. looking for an informal group where I can talk about my love of reading, share recommendations, make friends and generally meet like minded folk. Fave genres include: Sci-Fi, Fantasy, Horror and some autobiographies and biographies but open to others as well.

ChrisH72 recommends:

Rendezvouz With Rama by Arthur C Clarke

When I first read this as a teenager the sense of wonder and something truly alien blew my mind. Sure, characterisation is poor but the scope, scale and mystery of the story is epic.

Emjay30 (Chesterfield)

I would love to join a local book club to meet new people and talk about books. I read a wide variety of books and have no specific genre that I favour, from Sci-fi to romance and crime, thrillers and historic novels. Some of my favourites are Where the Crawdads sing, Eleanor Oliphant is completely fine, Dune and of course Jane Austin. I always like to read the book before watching the film too! I cant wait to hear everyone's book recommendations.

As a mum of two, who works part-time and holds a household I’m looking for an adult only book club or group of people who enjoy a good read! (all kinds of genre) Who doesn't take life too seriously and just wants to meet new people and have a laugh…
