I don't have a specific genre of book, I like to read. If I like the sound of a book I'll give it a read. I am looking to join a book club to meet new people and to share a love of reading.

I've nearly written a thriller and I'm looking for some Beta readers to read my book and provide some feedback. If anyone is willing to do that let me know and I can send you a copy of the draft manuscript. I'm happy to make a small payment for your time and a copy of the published book

Rose (Alfreton)

My go-to is always mystery/murder books, but I love reading outside of my comfort zone. I'd like to find a few other book lovers to meet up every couple of months and have a good discussion as well as a good laugh!

I'm 24 and looking for a group to socialise with around once a month and discuss a random choice 'pick of the month' book. I usually steer towards twisty thrillers but love a bit of fantasy too!

Helen (Chesterfield)

Hello, I am a slow reader so a monthly book group would suit me best. Reading is a way to relax and although I prefer fairly light novels, I also like thought-provoking and new genres. I also enjoy listening to audio books. I am looking to meet new people and share my love of books.

Becca (Alfreton)

29 year old new to the area, I was once part of a young book club where we were given a random read for the month and all met up for a potluck dinner to discuss it! Looking for something similar.

Gill (Heanor)

Hello although I have lived in the area for two years I have not really socialised and made friends. I like historical novels and thrillers but would also consider other genres. I work part time so daytime book meets could be tricky but it would be nice to meet new people if a suitable venue maybe a coffee shop or cafe could be found. I like a variety of books many thriller writers but I do read some historical novels and other books which just look appealing.

Gill recommends:

Keeper of Enchanted Rooms by Charlie N Holmberg

It takes you on a journey through the eyes of the main character which is funny but also links to real experiences that many of us have had and without lecturing shows that sometimes the obstacles are there to guide us.

Amanda (New Mills)

Hi I’m a 36 year old mum who has always wanted to join a book group and now is the perfect time. I would love to have someone to chat about books with and be encouraged to read more books I’m not used to reading. I don’t have a preference for genre but I’m currently reading a little life by Hanya Yanagihara 😬 Thanks Amanda
