I read a lot when I was younger and lost the desire as a young adult to read after leaving college and life getting busy. A doomed love story, set at the beginning of WWII, which is somehow reminiscent of Graham Greene’s ‘The End of the Affair.’ However it features a thoroughly unreliable narrator and many classic tropes of gothic literature, plus a truly ghastly ending.

I’m 48, female, and self employed so have flexible times to enjoy books and storytelling. I particularly enjoy fantasy with a smattering of romance and spirituality, and a bit of magic :) Humour and cleverly put together narrative are especially enjoyable to me :) Looking to connect with like minds - lots of my reading is done in parks and on the beach and I’d love to meet with others either outdoors, or in libraries, cafes, etc to read the same or different things.
