Motunlayo (Ipswich)

Hi. I'm Motun, I live in Ipswich. I work unsociable hours so I find it hard to make friends outside of work. I like to read (mostly fantasy) but I'm open to any genres.

booksRus (Ipswich)

Hey, my names Jack and I’m 28 years old. I live in Ipswich and I love reading. I often go down to a cafe weekly to read my book however, I’m now interested in joining a group so I can talk with others, sharing ideas and opinions. And potentially making a couple of friends along the way:)

Emma92 (Haverhill)

I love reading thriller books with a twist or an easy to read romance novel. Sometimes I pick up a YA story, especially if it's based on a TV show or film I've seen. Always read the book second as they are always better! I've just started on the BBC's 100 reads as I am looking to expand my reading list to all sorts. Would love a book club who meet once a week or less to discuss what we've read and other recommendations.

Lynn (Mildenhall)

Hi, I’m an avid non-fiction, drama, romance, crime, thriller and Shakespeare fan (sorry, it’s the English teacher in me). I also love modern day dystopian, socio political and tragedy literature. Would love to join an upbeat book club that shares bookish insights but also lends itself to making new and meaningful connections.

Likesbooksfay (Ipswich)

Hi! I’m a big fan of thoughtful conversations, getting lost in a good story, and discovering new perspectives through books. I enjoy both fiction and non-fiction—especially anything that makes me think or feel deeply. Im 23, female and moved from London to Ipswich and I’m hoping to join a welcoming group where we can share honest thoughts (and maybe a few laughs too). Always open to new genres and friendly chats!

I moved to Oulton about a year ago and I’ve always had trouble meeting people as very introverted. I enjoy reading, walking with the dog and crafting. I’m looking at joining a book club

Zakaria (Ipswich)

Well, I love reading. Any kind of book really, as long as it's well written. Ideally looking for more people around my age to start or join a book club with. (21 ± 5) Especially enjoy fantasy/mythological kind of stuff but I'll try out anything really. Adore anything with a strong or unique atmosphere.

Samantha (Ipswich)

Hi, I’m looking to join a book club to expand my social circles and discover books that I may not consider myself. I’m divorced and retired early, the children are at uni so I have time in my hands to try out new things.

A great heartfelt story of someone who has a beautiful, kind nature who is often ridiculed and left out by family and people in general and how people change attitudes when money is involved.

Ellora (Ipswich)

I'm Ellora (25F), recently moved to Ipswich for work (but based primarily in Chelmsford) and would love to join a book club near either place (or just meet up with people/start one!). I'm just getting back into reading and tend to go for either non-fiction or horror/thriller/romantasy fiction, but I'll read anything!

The first of the Dr Ruth Galloway and Inspector Harry Nelson range of crime fiction books. Full of family drama, forensic archeology, crime solving, romance and more! Set in Norfolk... and so the relatively local connection makes it all the more interesting.

Steve (Stowmarket)

Hello everyone. I began reading fiction again a few years ago, and became hooked on the Inspector Rebus (Ian Rankin) and the Dr Ruth Galloway (Elly Griffiths) series of books. But I really ought to expand my reading, and would love to discuss 'good-reads' with other people. I understand that the Stowmarket Book Club (Stowmarket Library) currently has no vacancies though.

Chloe (Stowmarket)

Hi! I'm Chloe (F25), currently based close to Stowmarket but very able to travel to the likes of Bury St Edmunds, Sudbury, Colchester and Ipswich where needed! I work in a boarding school so my free time can be a little slim (outside of school holidays and half terms that is!), but I would love to expand my social circle and get to know some new people locally! I love quite a few different genres- my hyperfixations at the moment are romantasy, fantasy, historical fiction and anything mythology centred. I also fell down a rabbit hole of feminist and alternative perspective retellings (think the influx of books centred around Lady Macbeth in recent months- very into them). I'm currently making my way through Onyx Storm (third Fourth Wing book) and really enjoying it! I would love to join a book club, or even arrange a meet-up with like minded people every few weeks for a coffee or a bookstore browse. I'm very friendly and more than happy to exchange socials/numbers- reach out if you're interested!
