Bookaddict

I like good writing and I like a good murder mystery (but not the violent kind - give me a nice polite murder any time). Also like funny/witty books and non-fiction (particularly history). The one thing I don't read is "celebrity" biography but, otherwise, never happier than when the pile of books beside my bed is so high it's in danger of toppling

The Poisoned Chocolates Case by Anthony Berkeley
The Poisoned Chocolates Case
by Anthony Berkeley | Buy this book
Beautifully written and plotted quite brilliantly. So clever. So very clever. BUT, if you get hold of the British Library Crime Classics edition, I recommend you close the book where Berkeley stops writing and ignore the denouements added by later editors.

I have always enjoyed reading and would love to meet new people who share my enthusiasm for books. I tend to gravitate towards contemporary fiction but really enjoy trying something different and know book groups can help me discover something new and interesting.

Jane S recommends:

A celebration of life, beautiful friendships, love and loss. A very moving debut novel full of wisdom and soul.

Looking for interests outside of work and to share time with interesting folk preferably with some laughter in the mix. I enjoy crime / psychological thrillers, comedy and ‘learning’ books mainly but open to learning to enjoy other genres.
