pallavi (Hounslow)

Hi, I'm a reading enthusiast and love reading thrilling novels and short stories. In my college days, I also wrote a whole fantasy heroic story, but never published it. To restart my reading gig, I wish to join a book club to give myself a nudge to set a proper me time.

Amina (Harrow)

I retired very recently. I taught GCSE English and love literature and reading. Would be great to share ideas and opinions about a shared novel. Interested in science fiction and tales from the Indian subcontinent but just like a novel that hooks you from the beginning.

Frances (Sunbury-on-Thames)

I'm looking for a book club to discover new interesting literature and make new friends. I'm currently addicted to non fiction, so a book club could be great to get me reading some fiction! In terms of non fiction, I'm really into health and wellness, biographies and travel memoirs.

Mahim (Southall)

Hello! I’m Mahim, and believe it or not I like to read books. Non-fiction books that challenge my beliefs and worldviews are ideal, so I’m diving into a range of topics from philosophy to business negotiation.

Mahim recommends:

Ishmael
by Daniel Quinn | Buy this book
I have never had my assumptions so brilliantly brought to light and challenged in a way that has me constantly applying its themes in my life. Usually I learn new things, but I’ve never had a book tell me where I am wrong, explain it poetically and rationally, and leave me with a feeling of hope so quickly.
The Story of B by Daniel Quinn
The Story of B
by Daniel Quinn | Buy this book
If you agree with the theme of ‘Ishmael’ , but you have a few questions or are simply interested in exploring these ideas further it’s an excellent book. The story is told quite differently than Ishmael, not a dialogue but a series of diary entries but it works very well.
Dopamine Nation
by Anna Lembke | Buy this book
I love books that include the stories of the people the author has learned from, Dopamine Nation in one of these. If you’re curious about the nature of all types of addiction and some general strategies to apply to your life, which I am, it’s a great read. The research mentioned is easy to understand and applicable, and the stories are broad which allows me to relate to the stories most like my own.
