I would ideally like to join a group in a daytime or online. I enjoy reading daily, mostly crime genre and would like to connect with like minded people

Budgie recommends:

The Missing Family by Tim Weaver
The Missing Family
by Tim Weaver | Learn more and buy
The book starts with an inexplicable mystery of a family disappearing from a boat in the middle of a lake. The central character in all Weavers books, David Raker, specialises in missing person cases and the author is an expert at building suspense and clever plot twists.

I’m new to the UK and I’d like to join a book group to improve my English communication skills, meet new people and make friends. I enjoy learning, reading and having friendly conversations, and I’d love to connect with people from different backgrounds. My English is still improving, so I’m looking for a friendly and welcoming group where I can practise and feel more confident.

Criss (Birmingham)

Hello! I’m in my 40's, and I’m looking to join a book club to expand my horizons and dive into new perspectives. I believe that reading not only broadens the mind but also offers a unique way to connect with others who share a love for exploring different ideas and experiences. I’m excited to discover new books, engage in thoughtful discussions, and meet people who are passionate about learning and growth. If I can make a few new friends along the way, that’s an added bonus! I’m open-minded, eager to learn, and looking forward to the enriching conversations and connections that come with being part of a community of book lovers.

Tiffany (Wolverhampton)

Hey! I'm busy Mom with a full time job, working from home. I've ALWAYS loved reading, but as adult life progressed I've struggled to have time to read. Im back into it and generally know if a book will hold my attention within the first chapter. I used to read a lot of real life stories (war time, Auschwitz etc) and children who had a difficult start to life. I have however found that my genre is now leaning more towards romance. I've recently read Paige Toon 'what if I never get over you' and completed it in approx 3 evenings. I've since ordered 5 more of her books and am currently reading 'seven summers'. I'd really like to meet some people who love to read too and am open to any suggestions, happy for a face to face book group too.

Completely gripping book based on a true story, that makes you realise just how horrific this time was.

This group is available to anyone who wants to make a consistent change to their lives. We will not just read books that will get you set on significant self development journey but we will talk about anything positive and beneficial to each other. “We are what we think about the majority of the time” remember that and say it to yourself consistently, write it down, study that powerful phrase.

I love how the main charecter in the book risked her life to make sure she gets her grandmas medince. She crosses into a war zone to reteive it. Its a real life based book and its pretty fast paced.

Katie (Walsall)

Hi! I moved to the west midlands nearly a year ago and am looking to make friends and settle more into the area, and to have some external pressures to actually finish my books! I enjoy sci-fi and fantasy books best, but honestly I'm willing to give any genre a go at least once. Looking for other people to meet up with every so often to chat, knit and discuss book emotions with.

Daisytayx (Coventry)

Hey!! I’m Daisy. I’m quite new to reading but have recently discovered a real love for it. I’ve found that getting into books has been such a positive and enjoyable experience—it’s opened up a whole new world for me! I’m really interested in joining a book group to keep up my motivation, explore different genres, and hear other people’s thoughts and recommendations. I think it would be a great way to connect with others, share ideas, and build my confidence as a new reader.
