Rm12 (Coventry)

Hi! I mostly enjoy reading sci-fi, weird fiction and some more literary works from time to time. Looking to find a group of like-minded people to discuss a common interest and learn about other genres I've not given a chance yet.

Huw (Birmingham)

Hi! Avid reader of Fantasy, Science Fiction and History (appreciate last is probably not book club material unless you want to compare Beevor and Hastings for instance!). Would love to discuss some of the books and themes and get new recommendations. To give you an idea of themes, I have a lot of Neal Asher (who I love, great books) and Adrian Tchaikovsky (good, but sometimes frustrating) but my stand out is Malazan, the Book of the Fallen and all associated with it. Based in Brum at the moment, so drop me a line, we can do coffee and book talk!

Clare (Walsall)

I enjoy classic and cult literature, and also some non fiction, especially the OUP very short introduction series, and self development books. Some of my favourite writers: Solzhenitsyn, Graham Greene, HGWells. At the moment I'm rereading Norwegian Wood by Haruki Murakami. I would love to meet other like minded people, and have a chat over a coffee.

I read/watched myself out of sci-FI a while back now, as is what happens when you get obsessed with a genre and consume 5+ hours of it a day. Looking to get back into reading and expanding my horizons, particularly to help me write!

CatoCally (Walsall)

Hi everyone! I am a huge bookworm and I’m about to embark on year 2 of an English Lit degree at age 33! I’d love to set up a book club where we can all share our love of reading and push outside of our comfort zone and explore different genres. )My personal faves are horror, lit fic and thrillers). I’d also love to connect with like minded people and make some new friends because let’s face it, it’s hard as a grown up. I’m local to Walsall/Wolverhampton area so drop me a message and we can go from there ☺️

Nisha (Birmingham)

I'm 21. I love reading but have lost the motivation to finish a book. I read psychological thrillers, horror and dark romance but I'll read anything honestly. I love collecting books for my future home library and I have banned myself from buying new books until I've read all the ones I've already got.

JJ (Wolverhampton)

Looking to link with like-minded readers to talk all things books and to build my network along the way and all that jazz. It sounds really straight forward, but I'm just after someone to shoot the shit (can we swear on here?) about books I've read and what they're reading too. Books are incredible but my circle are not massive readers (their loss!) so would like to connect with people who are into the same books and go from there! Thrillers, whether they be crime, psychological, espionage, is my genre of choice, but very much open to exploring new avenues. Reach out! 32 | M | WV1/Tettenhall

JJ recommends:

Book #4 of the Box 88 series and once you're in, you're in for the ride. It's set in Greece, Montenegro and a few others in between. An incredible backdrop for a brilliant piece of work.

Unique use of ‘flashbacks’ - rather than whole chapters dedicated to the background of a character, a few paragraphs / pages are used (much like how we recall a memory for a few moments, then return to the here and now)
