Seriously Grandma!

Hello! I’m recently retired and, having sorted through most of the things that have needed sorting for years, I’m now looking for new stimuli. I read every day and get restless on the rare occasions when I don’t have a book on the go. I love my home - especially the kitchen - my garden, my husband and our children and grandchildren. But they are scattered over the globe now and I miss them a bit, though we chat via the computer screen. I am in the New Forest area and would love to hear from anyone who likes to lose themselves in a stonking novel!

Where the Crawdads Sing
by Delia Owens | Buy this book
I had no interest whatsoever in the hot, swampy, humid Deep South of America before I read this book, but it consumed me from the first page. Unfortunately, the film of the book was not worth seeing, apparently, so I’m glad that I didn’t.

I’m new to the Ashurst (Hampshire) area and keen to find a new book club! I most enjoyed reading books I wouldn’t normally gravitate towards in my previous club, so am happy to try almost anything.
