Hi, I live in Dibden Purlieu on the edge of the New Forest. I’ve recently retired from working in positions with extensive travel. I haven’t been home long enough to meet people with similar interests. I have always loved reading and now I have the time to read more fiction. Particularly love thrillers, whodunnits, etc. Anything that gets the brain going with twists and turns. I’m happy to travel throughout the New Forest. Please contact me if you’re already part of a reading group open to new members or would like to start a new reading group and making like-minded friends.

Seriously Grandma!

Hello! I’m recently retired and, having sorted through most of the things that have needed sorting for years, I’m now looking for new stimuli. I read every day and get restless on the rare occasions when I don’t have a book on the go. I love my home - especially the kitchen - my garden, my husband and our children and grandchildren. But they are scattered over the globe now and I miss them a bit, though we chat via the computer screen. I am in the New Forest area and would love to hear from anyone who likes to lose themselves in a stonking novel!

I had no interest whatsoever in the hot, swampy, humid Deep South of America before I read this book, but it consumed me from the first page. Unfortunately, the film of the book was not worth seeing, apparently, so I’m glad that I didn’t.
