Lytham Literature Enthusiasts

Hello! I'd like to start a book club in the Lytham area. I love reading and discussing books over a brew. I would love to meet new people, hear about what reading means to them, how stories made them laugh, their jaws drop, how they impacted them. My favourite genres are mystery, classics, crime and sometimes a little bit of romance. I am open to expanding my horizons too. If you're interested in joining a book club let's connect!

I’m 20 and just moved to Lytham and looking for something to pass some evenings with. I enjoy many different genres but particularly enjoy literary and historical fiction.

The characters are just so incredibly personable but the world building is also atmospheric and a genius idea to change one small detail of a world we know. This is also an important book in looking into the negatives of British colonialism but also identity.

Fairy Tale by Stephen King
Fairy Tale
by Stephen King | Buy this book
This book was only my second Stephen King read. Genre: dark fantasy/adventure. It starts off as a very ordinary story set in a small town. Ordinary events however lead to doors to the extraordinary. The story is masterfully patched together from pieces of well-known old tales but with dark, gritty twists. The elements of hope and friendship are the engine driving the main character forward in the midst of hardships. The main character's development and self-reflection are really well done. It is one of those books you cannot wait to get back to!

The book feels as if the author is sharing her life story with you. It delves into extensive detail about Dolly's search for meaning in her life, her journey to becoming more comfortable in her own skin, and her realizations about what is important as she grows older.

It is very angsty and gets you excited about what is coming next. It is a romance and the ending is a happy one.
