Tiffany (Wolverhampton)

Hey! I'm busy Mom with a full time job, working from home. I've ALWAYS loved reading, but as adult life progressed I've struggled to have time to read. Im back into it and generally know if a book will hold my attention within the first chapter. I used to read a lot of real life stories (war time, Auschwitz etc) and children who had a difficult start to life. I have however found that my genre is now leaning more towards romance. I've recently read Paige Toon 'what if I never get over you' and completed it in approx 3 evenings. I've since ordered 5 more of her books and am currently reading 'seven summers'. I'd really like to meet some people who love to read too and am open to any suggestions, happy for a face to face book group too.

Hey!! I’m Daisy. I’m quite new to reading but have recently discovered a real love for it. I’ve found that getting into books has been such a positive and enjoyable experience—it’s opened up a whole new world for me! I’m really interested in joining a book group to keep up my motivation, explore different genres, and hear other people’s thoughts and recommendations. I think it would be a great way to connect with others, share ideas, and build my confidence as a new reader.

Starts off at a casual pace but picks up towards the middle to right till the end which I liked allowing me to get into the book. I loved the mix of mystery, horror and comedy and there were some dark, violent parts which surprised me for a YALit book.

JHug (Solihull)

I'm Jessica, a 30 something mama from Redditch! I read mostly romantasy, fantasy and dark fiction books - if there are sensitive fae, vamp, wolfie, elven, shifter, mer (etc) characters in a book; I am likely to have read, be reading or be planning to read ❤️ Current read is the Throne of Glass series. Looking for a romantasy book club or some fellow dark romance nerds to chat with, from dissecting characters to sharing favourite book moments, and everything in between! Happy to travel for book catch ups 👍

I read/watched myself out of sci-FI a while back now, as is what happens when you get obsessed with a genre and consume 5+ hours of it a day. Looking to get back into reading and expanding my horizons, particularly to help me write!

Ashes to Admin by Evie King

A bit of a strange read however, the book is incredibly moving and oddly comforting. The book follows the accounts of a Council Funeral Director, in which she describes the cases as "her people". I thought this was touching. I felt the author was talking with me, accounting her stories and opinions about death. Death is sad for the obvious reason of leaving the ones we love behind however, the author was able to accommodate their last wishes and even keep a secret or two! The effort, respect and appreciation she has for people is just awesome! If you're interested in death, I would recommend. A book I'll never forget in the best way possible.
